This Tactical Handgun course focuses on the effective use of cover in a defensive shooting environment. Throughout the day, students will learn how to properly utilize cover while engaging threats at realistic defensive distances.

Participants will work through practical drills designed to develop safe movement, proper positioning, and efficient engagement from behind cover. The training emphasizes maintaining accuracy, awareness, and control while working around barriers and obstacles commonly encountered in real-world defensive situations.

By the end of the course, students will have a stronger understanding of how to effectively use cover to improve both safety and performance during a defensive encounter.

Equipment Needed

• Duty or carry handgun with holster

• Standard hip holster that properly fits your handgun

• IWB holsters permitted only if they retain their shape (due to frequent drawing from the holster)

• Extra magazines

• 350 rounds of ammunition

• Pants with belt loops and a sturdy belt

• Eye and ear protection

• Appropriate range clothing

• Sturdy footwear suitable for movement
